Lakeland Community College - Workshop: History and Branches of Yoga

Yoga is a complete science of human development, and yet, in most westerner’s minds, it is seen as exercise.  This workshop explores the origins and history of yoga and its various branches.  Learn to differentiate between a Branch of Yoga, a Style of Yoga and a Lineage of Yoga.  You’ll begin to see and appreciate the richness of this ancient tradition.  We will relieve stiffness from time to time with some gentle postures, so bring a yoga mat and a blanket.  Chairs will also be provided.  Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
